I wish I could send you Mayakovsky by Frank O'Hara (Heartbreak Pt.2)
I wish I could send you Mayakovsky by Frank O'Hara And hope that it moves you the way it moved me; Even though you'd tell me that poetry isn't your strong suit.
I wish I could send you that song that we heard beside the sea (one earphone each) Of which I didn't hear a single note For looking at you, Eyes shut, and intently listening Was music enough.
I Wish I could send you Munch's Eye in eye (which I probably did) Because it somehow perfectly captures our last encounter, Where I, a little less vibrant, less beautiful and less strong than you Dissolved into something a little less alive.
I wish I could send you those silly rhymes, Which you pretended to like, That spoke of all your glories divine Now I only write these poems On lonely train rides back home.
I wish I could talk to you, Ask how your day went And tell you about mine; Crack stupid jokes that made you ugly chuckle.
I wish I could kiss you And melt once again in the Softness of your lips.
I wish I could fall back into your caress And not just imagine it Crawled up on an empty bed.
I wish you could love me back But you can't And that's that.
