Heartbreaks
Mark Manson tells me that heartbreaks hurt because there’s a literal loss of meaning in life as we tend to fill some of the voids in our lives with another person’s love and understanding.
But maybe it could be that we, for a few moments, are relieved of the existential loneliness that pains us all. The moments we spend with a lover and in the comfort of her love keep us away from this pain.
Then you part ways and we’re back in the excruciatingly cold desert of loneliness bound to walk alone without the warmth of another.
That existentialist loneliness probably never goes away, we simply have to learn to deal with it and keep on keeping on.
